In 2011 I was struggling with the death of my brother and I was looking for anything to help me with my depression. I found CrossFit and it did so much for me. I started to feel better about myself, my energy levels increased, and I finally started feeling happy again. I told myself that anything that could pull me from such a low needed to be experienced by others who may need positivity in their life.I have now found that with a healthy lifestyle I can be the person I’ve always wanted to be. Nothing is stopping me from accomplishing my goals whether it’s running 5k’s or helping my mom lift a heavy couch. People need to understand that a healthy lifestyle doesn’t mean you have to cut everything out of your life. I like to teach the 90/10 rule, try to be healthy 90% of your life and 10% can be for those times where really want that piece of cake or that 2nd beer.
I was a little heavier growing up and had my brothers teasing me A LOT. So my desire to be known as a good athlete and a good person burns deeply. My purpose in coaching is helping people get their life back. It isn’t just about getting people fit, i have found through fitness i could get through some of the darkest situations and CrossFit just brings this unbelievable community and family feel. I truly get excited every day to drive in and help someone have a better day wether its hit their first pull up or just talk out somethings that are going on at home that they want to get off their chest. I believe i have the best job in the world.
